About Zakat Calculator
A free educational resource for Muslims worldwide
Our Mission
Zakat Calculator was built with one purpose: to help Muslims around the world fulfill the third pillar of Islam — Zakat — accurately, simply, and confidently.
Many Muslims want to pay their Zakat correctly but struggle with the calculation: which assets count? How is Nisab determined today? Should I use gold or silver as the threshold? What about my retirement account or business inventory? This tool answers those questions — and provides educational content to deepen your understanding.
Our Methodology
Our calculator follows traditional Hanafi and Maliki Zakat calculations:
- Zakat rate: 2.5% on zakatable wealth held for one full lunar year (Hawl).
- Nisab thresholds: Both gold (87.48g) and silver (612.36g) are calculated.
- Default standard: The lower (silver) threshold is used, in line with traditional jurisprudence — capturing more wealth for distribution to those in need.
- Asset categories: Cash, gold, silver, business inventory, investments, receivables. Personal-use items (home, car, household goods) are excluded.
